Our Annual General Meeting & Presentations evening will take place this year at Woodlands Castle, Ruishton, Taunton TA3 5LU on the evening of Wednesday 1st July 2020.
Everyone is welcome, so please join us to review the past year for the Group and look forward to what’s ahead in the year to come, as we further evolve and transform the group.
West Monkton Scout Group is thriving! Our sections are bursting to capacity with a very active programme across all sections, whether we are at Heathfield School, at Huish Woods or on one of a joint event – we are getting out for some great adventures.
We will start with our AGM as a requirement for each Scout Group to ensure we have the correct governance in place to enable us to run correctly. Followed by presentations to recognise those who have shown commitment, determination and excellence in our Youth Sections and in their contributions to their Scout Group.
Doors will open at 5:45 pm with the aim to start at 6:30 pm. The Bar and tuck shop will be open after the presentations so that we can focus on the young people receiving their awards.
Our Scout Group is growing which means we are able to offer the friendship and adventure of Scouting to more local young people which is fantastic! This does mean that we need more adults to volunteer their time to make a difference in our community.
We are looking for more adult volunteers to enable us to keep growing the group and provide Scouting in our community. If we had more adult volunteers this would allow us to continue and
expand our exciting and varied programme across all sections in our group. More adult support means we are able to offer a higher quality of Scouting not only for our current members but for future members as well.
Please show your support for the Leaders who give up hundreds of hours to look after your children – they do appreciate the chance to meet and talk to parents and will be pleased to answer your questions.
Once again, there will be lots of raffle prizes up for grabs this year and we are offering the opportunity to purchase them from the week beginning 8th June.
The dress code for the evening is Full Uniform for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders and Leaders.
Please be aware that children must be accompanied by parents and we very much hope you will be able to join us for what we hope will be an enjoyable evening.
Please feel free to contact your Leader should you require any further information regarding our celebration of achievement evening.
We look forward to seeing you at the Woodlands Castle in July – if not before about volunteering opportunities.
