Hike Challenge for 80 Cubs & Scouts

Date: 20th May 2019 Author: West Monkton

A group of 80 Cubs and Scouts has ‘smashed’ this years challenge, completing a 12.5-mile circular hike on Sunday 19th May. Setting off from Triscombe Stone Car Park, the Cubs and Scouts hiked to the plantation at West Quantoxhead and back.

It was wonderful to see how well they worked together, encouraging and motivating each other along the way.

We’re looking forward to many more adventures this year, with camping, water sports and other activities planned in line with the Scouting Skills for Life strategy.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
